Original Studios Inc. (“Original Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the websites at https://originalstudiosinc.com/ and https://thelastplague.com (“Sites”) and associated PC game, The Last Plague: Blight (our “Game”). At Original Studios, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines the information we collect and how we generally handle your privacy when you access the Site and its content and interact with our Game. 

Consent: By using the Sites and interacting with our Game, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not consent to this Privacy Policy, we are sorry but your only option is to cease accessing the Sites and/or playing our Game.

  1. The information we collect and how we do it

We collect the information needed for us to provide our Game, personalize your use, monitor issues you encounter, improve your experience, provide support services, and comply with applicable laws. The categories of information we collect and how we do it are described below: 

  1. The information we collect automatically when you use our Sites: When you access our Sites, we automatically collect information related to your device and interaction with the pages. This may include your device IP address, browser type, geolocation, operating system, pages accessed, duration of use, access times, and so on. 

    We collect this information automatically using Google Analytics, a third-party analytics tracking tool from Google. Please note that the information gathered is anonymized and does not identify any user – except for your IP address and similar device properties that may termed personal information under applicable laws. However, if you do not wish for your usage of our Sites to be tracked anonymously by Google Analytics, you can opt out by installing Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on on your device browser or blocking third-party cookies. 

    We may also collect some of the above information automatically using our Sites customized backend events logging system. 
  2. The information we collect automatically when you play our Game: When users interact with our Game, we also automatically collect information about its performance and the device users use to interact with it. The information we gather may include PC device type, IP Address, unique ID, geolocation, error and crash report, gameplay time, any encountered technical glitches, and similar analytics that do not specifically identify any individual.We may gather this information using our backend events logging tool. 

    Our collection of this information is strictly based on your consent, and you have the right to update your consent at any time. You can consent to our collection of this information on the consent banner when you first open our Game. You can also withdraw your consent in our Game’s setting option. 
  1. The information you provide directly to us when you use our forms: You may provide us with certain personal information willingly when you use our forms. This information may include your name and email address. 

    You may provide us with this information when you contact us for support, provide feedback, or use any other forms on our Sites and Game. 

    Please note that you are not obligated to provide us with any information willingly. However, we may be unable to provide your request without such information.

We do not engage in the practice regarded as the sale of personal information for monetary consideration, nor do we share your information with third parties for online advertisements. 

However, we may share information for the purposes described below:

Sharing in connection with third-party services: Because we use third-party tools and services, including for Game development, analytics, Game distribution, and Game hosting, third-party service providers who provide us with these services may access some of this information – mostly anonymized. 
  2. Sharing in connection with legal requirements: We may share your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes. This includes responding to subpoenas, court orders, or government requests for information in connection with rights protection or for the vital interest of any person.  We will only share your information to the extent necessary to comply with legal requirements and will take steps to protect your privacy.

Sharing in connection with a sale or merger: If Original Studios is involved in a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the new owner as part of the transaction. However, we will take steps to ensure that the new owner is committed to protecting your privacy and will notify you of any such transfer.

We require these third parties to maintain the confidentiality of your personal information and only use it for the purposes for which it was provided. We also have contracts in place with these third parties that require them to comply with our Privacy Policy and security standards. 

  1. How we secure your information

Maintaining your privacy is of utmost importance to us. We collect very minimal data and limit it to the ones we need to operate our Sites and provide our Game. We ensure that no user is identified when we gather analytics about performance on the Sites and Game. Most importantly, we process technical information anonymously and based on your consent. 

However, while we take extensive measures to protect your privacy, please bear in mind that it may not always be enough to address all threats. 

  1. Our data retention practices

We retain the information we gather anonymously on our Sites and Game and those provided willingly for as long as we have an ongoing legitimate need to retain it (for example, to monitor crashes, errors, and performance of our Game or to comply with tax, legal, and accounting requirements). 

When there is no ongoing legitimate business need to retain or use the information, we will delete it or aggregate it. If this is impossible, we will isolate the information and exclude it from using it under we are able to delete it. 

  1. Our policy about children

Our Sites and Game are not targeted at children (individuals under 13 years of age), and we do not knowingly process information belonging to children. By playing our Game, you hereby represent that you are above 13 years of age. 

  1. Third-party links and services

Our Sites and Game may contain links and services that are from third parties. Such third-party links and services are not governed by this Privacy Policy. If you link to a third-party service through our Sites or Game, please review their privacy policies on their services to learn about how they handle your information with respect to their services. Original Studios is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. 

  1. Do Not Track

We are required to let you know if we respond to Do Not Track signals from your device. Due to the inconsistency of this feature among industry participants, we do not respond to the Do Not Track signal. 

  1. Updates to our practices 

We may be obligated to review and update this Privacy Policy in the event our privacy practices change or there are updates to applicable laws. If we update this Privacy Policy, the updated version will replace the old version. We reserve the right to notify you of changes to our practices via our Sites, the Game, or any applicable contact address provided by you. By your continued use of our Sites and participation in our Game, you demonstrate your consent to be bound by the changes made.
